Taking out the 30 non-categorized charities, here are the statistics:

  1. 212 or 65% of the charities supported are local; that is in the club’s host city or country.
  2. 26 or 8% of the charities supported are remote; that is in cities outside their host country.
  3. 22 or 7% of the charities supported help the disabled. These are found primarily in the aged and elderly, education and the health categories.
  4. 15 or 4.6% of the charities supported are cancer related. These are found in the health adult and education categories. Most are Breast cancer research or hospice.
  5. 12 or 3.6% of the charities supported assist orphans. These are found primarily in the health and at risk categories.
  6. 5 or 1.5% of the charities supported are HIV related. These are primarily in both health categories.
  7. 4 or 1.3% of the charities supported are related to the needy or homeless. These are generally reflected in the at risk categories.

31 or 48% of the clubs say that they donated to the FAWCO Foundation.

10 or 2.8% of the clubs say that they donated to the ERF for the December Tsunami. The exact number of clubs surveyed that actually contributed to the tsunami fund is uncertain.

Of the 65 clubs in the survey, 29 reported the amount of money they contributed to charity in 2004. The total amount given to charity was $778,541.
