SPECIAL CHALLENGES AWARD sponsored in part by Chilterns AWC

This award is for a student from middle school to 20 years of age with a special challenge such as hearing impairment, visual impairment, autism, traumatic brain injury, or a specific learning disability. The award is for study at a recognized private or public school, college or other specialized institution or in a tutoring program whether academic and/or for physical therapy carried out by licensed professionals. The candidate may be of any nationality and the program may be in the country of his/her choice.

DUAL CULTURAL AWARD (in memory of Suzanne Erismann) sponsored in part by AWC Bern

This award was established to enable bi-cultural high school students to become better acquainted with their American heritage. It may be used to attend a semester of American high school or any other structured educational program in the United States. The recipient must be at least 14 years old at the time of application and have lived at least 6 years outside the United States. His or her parents will be responsible for all arrangements regarding study and housing in the States. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen or the child of at least one U.S. citizen parent.
